Texts With Melissa: Shoes

I moved from a very ritzy area of the world, and only about 3 miles from my parents, to a up-and-coming area about 30 minutes away from my parents. The results were a bit of a larger disconnect which I struggled to understand and figure out.

Let's review what is really important in life.

Texts With Melissa: Reactions

Melissa knows all the weird sheet I do. I still feel the need to let her know how my behavior is still bizarre.

That bar aisle is pretty awesome - that's where I get my Go Macro bars. Let's break down the magic of friendship!

You got it.

Texts With Melissa: Not Jealous

Melissa wasn't feeling well, she stayed home sick - poor thing. I, of course, made sure to check on her since I don't have the emotional or social abilities to make OTHER friends.

Not a cry for help and/or attention. . .just a gentle reminder to anyone else in the hen house - know what I'm sayin'?

Texts With Melissa: Emotional Intellgence

Another installment of TEXTS WITH MELISSA!!! YAAAAY!

I have been working hard on my "emotional intelligence" which is actually pretty good but my general apathy and low tolerance for people makes other people think I'm not. Oh, and I don't want to eat their food.

However, I have been trying to be supportive and follow the rules taught in the stuff we buy that tells us we are all leaders and dreamers and. . .how we need to be supportive and caring. If we were children, it would be like a teacher saying we're all speical and we have to sit down and shut up and look forward.

ANYHOW. .I'm trying.

Emotional intelligence in 5. . .4. . ..3 . .. 2. . .

Texts With Melissa: Love

What happened to Melissa? What happen to you STFU?

Oh wait. This is a blog. You can't hear me anymore than I can hear you. Also. . .let's talk about LOVE! Melissa recently had another baby. It's a. . .you know. . .baby. IDK. I'm not really into babies.

Let's break this down. . .

Melissa's sacrifice and pure love of her offspring in the cruel face of corporate america which deems her supporting of life shameful. And. . .how I am even worse for not wanting to be mother.

Women - we just can't do right anyway we go.

Texts with Melissa: Skillz

I know it seems like it's been a long time since Melissa and I had some conversations up here. Mostly because there wasn't anything too earth shattering. However, since the Texts With Melissa series was missed by some of you - it's back!

What's happenin'?

That's right - Melissia was promoted and I still managed to stay employeed. Let's review!

That's right - Melissa is moving through the ranks, taking on challenges and growing both personally and professional. I am slightly intimidated by the amount of work from the autistic kids who come into the office to make notepads.

That's right - it's part of a program called Preparing Adolescents for Adult Life (PAAL). These kids - who I really like - come in about three times a week and have learned how to make notepads from scrap-paper.

What?

I mean, I can't even do that. I watched them do it. They measure and glue and. . .I failed Kindergarten. But, there they are working hard and producing some excellent work. I'm. . .you know. .taking selifes.

Good work, friends. Good work. I am delighted my company works with this program and I am happy these kids and I get to spend a little time together. I mean, I never met them formally. It's cool. I so make sure no one is in that room on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. These kids got real work to do, corporate America!

Texts With Melissa: Coping in Corporate America

Another awesome installment of Texts With Melissa - guest star, Mr. Melissa (her husband).

We all have to deal with situations that are stressful or utterly relentless and we all have ways of coping, right. Melissa finds joy in her frequent train trips. . .I let the insanity slowly eat me from the way out. . .

Let's break it down, folks!

Texts With Melissa: Dealing With Boredom

Boredom at work - HOW CAN YOU BE BORED, SO MUCH WORK! - simple, sometimes you get everything done and sometimes you are burnt out. Sometimes, you just are not mentally stimulated enough. Come on, it happens to everyone, let's not lie about it.

Let's break it down!

Just as a side-note, I do not huff. I'm being funny.

If someone you know has a problem - contact the National Inhalant Prevention Coalition (NIPC) for information and help so jokes like these remain funny and bizarre because we all know huffing does kill and thusly the stupidest thing to do.

Texts With Melissa: Motivation Comes In Many Forms

When stuck in the gears of corporate America, it is really important for you to be motivated. Some people are motivated by upper-management or posters. Melissa and I strongly believe in motivation and, through the years, have acquired reminders of our personal power during crisis.

Let's break it down like you know I do!

Texts With Melissa: Adult Dreams & Gloating

Whoever said you can't find joy in someone else's suffering. . .well. .doesn't come to my blog that often. In this edition, the only reason I am communicating with Melissa is to prove the place I work is better because I get to go outside. . .

Let's break it down!

And that's how friends do.
